Picture of the day: February 16, 2012

Picture of the day is another new segment of my blog. I will post music pictures and tell a little story behind it.

First picture is a photo that Travis Barker posted on his twitter couple of days ago. It is photo of his drum kit with great drum chair. There is a sign on the chair saying "drums machine have no soul". I find it pretty awesome. It is true that no drum machine can substitute real human drummer.

Song of the day: The Offspring - "Pay The Man"

The Offspring's Americana, which came out in 1998 is one of my all times favorite albums. I've been listening to it since 2001 (I was only 11 years old) and it still has a lot to say to me even today. I don't think this album has low point. Even "Intro" is fucking awesome.

"Pay The Man" is the final track of the album. I gotta say, it is definitely not typical The Offspring because it's got these arabic guitar riffs, which actually sound awesome as a whole with other instruments. "Pay The Man" is also much longer than the regular song from these guys. Shame that a lot of people don't even bother listening to this song because it doesn't sound like The Offspring and it's little weird. Also, people today don't listen to albums, but only to songs (usually singles). I actually hate it when somebody says that loves certain band, but listens only to popular tracks. Anyway, this song is just epic.

Watch new Cults music video

Cults have released new music video for their new single "You Know What I Mean" from their debut self-titled record. Watch the video below.

Watch Green Day's studio update

Billie Joe, Tre and Mike have been quite quiet lately. Well, now we know what they've been up to. They've been in the studio recording new record.

Billy Joe recently posted on his twitter following:

"Happy Valantine's day! Officially started recording the new record today. It's FUCK TIME!!!!"

They also posted short studio update. It lasts only 20 seconds but hopefully more updates like this will eventually come. You can watch it below:

Of course, this is exciting news, but I didn't really like their last record 21st Century Breakdown. Hopefully, this one will be better for me. Of course, nothing can beat their masterpiece American Idiot...

Alkaline Trio create their own guitar

American company producing guitars - Fender, and Alkaline Trio joined forces and ideas to create new acoustic guitar designed for Alkaline Trio. Instrument is named Fender Alkaline Trio Mailbu. It has folk mahogany body, maple neck and fingerboard made of palisander.

Fender describes the guitar as following:

"Chicago punks Alkaline Trio jumped in on the design of what must be one of Fender’s most distinctive acoustic guitars ever, the Alkaline Trio Malibu. The instrument takes the classic ’60s-era sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dresses it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band, as seen gracing the cover of 2011 acoustic album Damnesia.

Premium features include a richly resonant all-mahogany body with the aforementioned AT-designed heart-shaped rosette, scalloped X bracing, C-shaped maple Stratocaster® neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, body and neck binding, rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, chrome hardware and gloss neck and body finish."

Twenty-fret guitar is according to Fender great acoustic guitar for all fans of Fender, old-school guitars and for everybody who likes a little different looking instrument.

For more information about Fender Alkaline Trio Malibu go to sweetwater.com or to Fender official store. The price of the instrument is 350 dollars.
