Picture of the day: March 12, 2012

This one actually comes from fun site 9gag.com, but I think it reflects current music situation pretty well. I'm not saying there are no great bands nowadays, but popular music is just shit and people listen fewer and fewer to real good music.

Song of the day: Incubus - "In The Company Of Wolves"

"In The Company Of Wolves" is my favorite track from Incubus' latest record If Not Now, When?, which came out last year. It is little different record for Incubus, but still very good.

Anyway, this track is just mind-blowing. Especially the second part starting approximately at 3 minutes. One comment of this video on YouTube actually says that this is mini-stairway to heaven and I gotta agree with that.

Stream Foo Fighters' Reading 1995 set

Foo Fighters once again proved how awesome and cool they are. They really surprised all the fans with analog tape stream of their 1995 set at Reading Festival. If you head here, you can not only listen to the whole set but also virtually play with old-school casette player.

Watch Jack White perform at SNL

On March 3, Jack White made a TV appearance in support of his forthcoming debut record Blunderbuss, which comes out on April 24. He performed two songs from this record. First one is called "Love Interruption" and it was previously heard. However, "Sixteen Saltines" is a brand new song and it is really good. It's got really cool sound and it actually reminds me fast White Stripes tracks. Check both performances below.

Also, notice funny fact - during "Love Interruption", only girls form backing band and during "Sixteen Saltines", only men form the band. I just think that's pretty cool.

Listen to new song from Marilyn Manson

Personally, I have never been a big fan of this weirdo. However, I kind of appreciate him and think that he is a smart guy even though many people can't see that.

He recently released new single entitled "No Reflection". In fact, the track is not bad and it shows Manson's industrial side. It is a first track from his forthcoming record Born Villain, which will be out on May 1.

Marilyn Manson is also set to tour in support of new record. To check all the tour dates, visit his Web site.

Listen to full Black Box Revelation show

The Black Box Revelation are currently on their world tour. To check all their upcoming tour dates, visit their Web site. On March 6, they played a gig in New Jersey as part of their tour. They were also kind enough to post the whole show on soundcloud so people can listen to this awesome set. You can check the whole gig here.

The Racounters to release live DVD

The Racounters' frontman and ex-White Stripes leader Jack White is pretty busy now because of his debut solo record Blunderbuss, which will be out on April 24. Other members of the band are also working on their solo projects.

However, The Racounters will release live DVD on June 18. It will contain footage from their show at jazz festival in Montreaux in 2008. The band performed sixteen tracks during their set.

Tracklisting of DVD:

Consoler Of The Lonely

Pearl Jam will experiment on new record

Very anticipated tenth studio record from Washington's grunge rockers Pearl Jam should be out pretty soon. Successor of Backspacer is getting more and more tracks.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, guitarist Stone Gossard, said something about new album:

"We have already recorded some tracks and some are going to be recorded pretty soon. Maybe we will record one or two more tracks, but it is possible that we will record even six or seven more tracks."

He also explained that they're under no pressure and that gives them absolute freedom. Also, the band should show more experimental side. Gossard added:

"We always try to move forward and bring something new. We want people to think 'wow, this is little crazy for Pearl Jam, but it's good'."

I'm really excited about this new record because I think that Pearl Jam can't make a bad record because these guys are just awesome.
