Watch new video from Lana Del Rey

Couple of days ago, YouTube star Lana Del Rey released new music video for her track "National Anthem". The video is full of ironies and metaphors (ASAP Rocky' plays John F. Kennedy etc). It is pretty controversial music video. You can watch it below.

The Vaccines announce second album details

This morning, The Vaccines revealed title and artwork for their sophomore album. It is called The Vaccines Come Of Age and it will be out on September 3. Now they added additional information.

In an interview with NME, singer of the band Justin Young said:

"I don't think there's any danger of us making the same record twice. But I think anything people found attractive about us the first time round has been retained. I'm really confident we've got the balance right... I wanted to look inwards with this record. Honesty goes a long way in music and it's therapeutic. There's a lot about the way I'm feeling. One minute you're a shit-kicking 21-year-old and the next you're playing a song you've written in front of 20,000 people chanting your name. But that's tongue-in-cheek too, it's not me taking myself completely seriously."

The record was produced by Ethan Johns, who previously worked with Kings Of Leon, Laura Marling and Tom Jones.

Tracklising of The Vaccines Come Of Age:

"No Hope"
"I Always Knew"
"Teenage Icon"
"All In Vain"
"Ghost Town"
"Aftershave Ocean"
"Weirdo"
"Bad Mood"
"Change Of Heart pt.2."
"I Wish I Was A Girl"
"Lonely World"

First song of the album "No Hope" was previously released with music video.

The Vaccines just posted a photo on their Facebook. It is cover of their forthcoming record! It is called Come of Age and it will be out on September 3.

Watch interview with Billy Corgan

The Smashing Pumpkins just released their anticipated new record Oceania, which is part of their 44-song project Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. I don't really get this project and what the point of it is. However, I really do like Oceania. I feel like they are finally back and still relevant in today's music. The album has tracks reminding old Smashing Pumpkins, but it also has tracks with their new sound.

Frontman Billy Corgan recently did an interview with Fuse. The interview has so far 4 parts (more parts may be coming). First part focuses on Oceania and Kaleidyscope project, second part focuses on the album and whether it is dead, third part focuses on Billy's love for wrestling and the last part focuses on aging in music industry. You can now watch all four parts below.

As you all know, Green Day are releasing album trilogy over next 6 months. Based on trailers revealed for ¡Uno! and ¡Dos! new albums will sound little differently than usual records from this band. However, I love their new sound and I'm excited about these new albums.

Billie Joe Armstrong posted via his Twitter account picture of him and his band members holding all three albums with words "UNO! DOS! TRE! Finished!!".

Watch new video from Yellowcard

Pop-punkers Yellowcard, who are most famous for their 2003's mega successful record Ocean Avenue, are back with new track and new music video.

After release of their last year's record When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes, they were forced to take some time off. The reason was cancer of one of their members - violin player Sean Mackin. Apparently, he is well now and they are even currently touring with Vans Warped Tour.

Also, they announced new album (it is called Southern Air and it will be out on August 14) and they made a music video for the first track revealed. It is called "Always Summer" and you can check it below.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will release 18 new songs

Red Hot Chili Peppers recently surprised all the fans after they announced that the will release 18 new songs over the next six months. Now they revealed additional details about their upcoming singles.

All new songs come from I'm With You sessions. They will be released worldwide digitally or on 7 inch vinyl.

The first pair of singles - "Strange Man" on the A-side and "Long Progression" on the B-side - will be out on August 14.

Second pair of singles - "Magpies" and "Victorian Machinery" - will come out one month later - September 11, 2012.

Third pair of singles - "Never Is A Long Time" and "Love Of Your Life" - will be released on October 2, 2012.

Fourth, fifth and sixth pair of singles, which are yet untitled, will be out on November 6, December 4 and December 18, 2012.

According to RHCHP official website, last two releases will be out at the beginning of 2013.

I'm kinda surprised because it is a lot of music they are about to release. Also, I can't help myself, but I am skeptical about this because so much music can't be all good. I wish it was great music though ...

I don't post my own pictures, but I just wanted to share with you guys my guitar and amplifier.

Watch new music video from Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor released her sixth studio album What We Saw From The Cheap Seats on May 28. It received great reviews from music critics and fans as well.

She also recently released her second single of the album. After "All the Rowboats", which was released before the actual album came out on February 27,  her second single is called "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)". Song was formerly released ten years ago on the album called Songs. However, new version of the track is on new record. Regina Spektor also made a music video for new single, which you can watch below.

Green Day released trailer for ¡Dos!

Couple of days ago, Green Day revealed trailer for their first album of their upcoming trilogy. Well, now they released trailer for their second album called ¡Dos!, which is out on November 13. Again, music in the trailer sounds awesome like on the first one and I'm really excited about this Green Days's trilogy.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said that the albums will be "punchier, more power pop – somewhere between AC/DC and the early Beatles." Well, we'll see what the albums will really sound like, because I think his statement is little too conceited.

Anyways, here's the trailer for ¡Dos!:

Watch interview with The Offspring

The Offspring's new record isn't out until next week (June 26). However you can now stream it online. Frontman Dexter and guitarist Noodles made a video in which they answered fan's questions for this occasion. You can watch first part here (embedding was disabled for some reason) and the second part down below. I actually like the questions and how they answered them. I think both Dexter and Noodles are great and in fact, we can call The Offspring legendary band with many great tunes and huge impact on many today's bands.

Updated:
Here is third part of the interview:

Song of the day: Miles Davis - "Summertime"

Nice calming track for summer time. Miles Davis made some good jazz music during his life. If you don't know his music, I definitely recommend you to check him out.

Two Door Cinema Club revealed new album details + trailer

Two Door Cinema Club have announced details of their sophomore album. It is entitled Beacon and it will be out on September 3 this year.

It was recorded in Los Angeles in April and it was produced by Jacknife Lee who previously worked with bands like Bloc Party, U2 or REM.

Frontman of the band Alex Trimble said about the album:

"Beacon is a much more intimate record than our first, but at the same time, it's much bigger and more inclusive. Trying to find that balance has been our goal for a long time and this record takes us one step closer to the band we've dreamt of becoming. Working with Jacknife Lee was a joy and a pleasure. He shared our goals and played a huge part in putting the pieces together in the right way. This is an exciting time for us and we can't wait to share the songs with everyone."

Tracklisting of Beacon:

"Next Year"
"Handshake"
"Wake Up"
"Sun"
"Someday"
"Sleep Alone"
"The World Is Watching (with Valentina)"
"Settle"
"Spring"
"Pyramid"
"Beacon"

You can also watch trailer for the new record:
Based on the  music in the trailer, I assume, new album will contain more electronic than the first one, but in overal it sounds like Two Door Cinema Club with their typical elements in their music.

Watch new music video from Mars Volta

Mars Volta made a new music video for track called "The Malkin' Jewel" from their latest record Noctourniquet. It was shot in front of live audience in black na white. They actually prolonged the song during this live performance and the video now has 15 minutes. It is really cool performance though with a lot of emotions and you just want to watch it repeatedly.

Watch new video from Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have a new music video for the first track of their debut album. Video was revealed just today (June 20) via Noisey YouTube channel. "Everybody's On The Run" is my favorite song of the album so I'm glad they made a video for it.

Music video features actress Mischa Barton. You can check it out below, it is pretty cool video.

Watch Green Day's trailer for ¡Uno!

Recently I informed you about Green Day releasing three new albums. One will be released in September, second in November and the third one in January, 2013.

Now you can watch teaser for the first album ¡Uno!, which will be out on September 25. You can check the trailer down below.

Even though it is only 30-second long, I really like their new sound. It is sort of stoner rock that makes me wanna dance. We will see what the whole album and next two will sound like.

Stream The Offspring's new record

The Offspring's new album entitled Days Go By is officially out next week (June 26). However, now you can stream it in its entirety here. It is their ninth studio album and it took them three years to make it.

I like these californian punkrockers and I hope this record will be good. Of course, at this point of their career it is impossible for them to make new record as successful and good as Americana, but they can at least keep up their good standard.

I haven't check the record yet, but I will do so pretty soon and I plan to review it.

Vans Warped Tour 2012 started couple of days ago. Their third date takes place tomorrow at Las Vegas. This picture therefore comes from this tour. It captures metalcore band Of Mice & Men performing during the first day at Salt Lake City, UT.

Pendulum call it quits

The Australian electro rockers Pendulum have announced that they have split up. Band's frontman Rob Swire tweeted via his official Twitter account following:

"There will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013."

He has decided to focus on his current project Knife Party only. He said in a recent interview with Australian radio station Triple J:

"The Knife Party thing is going so well we don't really feel like going back to junior school anytime soon. "We're having too much fun with this project. It's also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that's never a fun way to do music. Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no one likes it we don't care."

Well, it really looks like they are really over. The band released three studio album during their 10-year existence and each year played the biggest festivals during the summer. Last year they played 30 shows during the summer. I even got to see them last year at Rock for People. Even though they are not really my cup of coffee, the show was pretty great.

Even though the band is over, Pendulum will continue as a DJ project of Paul "El Hornet" Harding and Ben "The Verse" Mount. However, DJ set and Live band are incomparable.

Song of the day: Alabama Shakes - "Hold On"

I found out about Alabama Shakes just recently (2 months ago) and I fell in love with them. Their debut album Boys & Girls is really awesome and I definitely suggest you to check them out.

Fiona Apple's new record entitled "shortly" The Idler Wheel Is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More than Ropes Will Ever Do is out tomorrow (June 19). It will be her first new album since 2005's Extraordinary Machine.

Roughly a week ago, she also revealed new music video for her first single of the record "Every Single Night". You can listen to the song and watch the music video down below. Song is very nice and music video as weird as Fiona herself.

The first single of the record called "Settle Down" will be out pretty soon - July 16. So, we have something to look forward.

The band wrote the following in the statement:

Stream new album from The Smashing Pumpkins

Very anticipated (and many times postponed) new record from The Smashing Pumpkins Oceania comes out next week. However, you can listen to it in its entirety now via iTunes.

The record is part of their monumental 44-song project, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope. This record is in the middle of it. That means, more new songs will come out later as part of this project.

I gotta admit that I didn't believe this band anymore and thought that this record will sound like shit. However, I was mistaken and I can proudly say, it is really good record and I am glad that this band is back with such good record.

Tracklisting of Oceania:

1. Quasar
2. Panopticon
3. The Celestials
4. Violet Rays
5. My Love Is Winter
6. One Diamond, One Heart
7. Pinwheels
8. Oceania
9. Pale Horse
10. The Chimera
11. Glissandra

Listen to new song from The Vaccines + music video

My favorite band of 2011, The Vaccines, have just recently revealed first new track from their forthcoming, yet-untitled, record. This unusually long song for this band (their average song is 2-minute long) is called "No Hope" and it is pretty good. The band also made nice music video for this track, which you can check below. I really hope these guys will release new record this year.

Album Review: Jack White - Blunderbuss

Jack White is a man who is always busy making some new music. He is obviously best known for his rock duo The White Stripes, which officially split in February, 2011. He is also known for his work with The Racounters, The Dead Weather and many other occasional collaborations.

He announced that he will release his debut solo album in late 2011 and everybody was really excited about it. When this very anticipated record came out in late April, it got mostly positive reviews. Although, fans may have expected more rock on the record and sound similar to early White Stripes. But honestly, we couldn't expect that from this man.

The record is influenced by jazz, blues, rock and even country music. Basically, the record is mixture of all his musical influences. There are definitely more keyboards on the album, which doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing though.

Tracks were written for other artists, however, he decided that these songs best fit himslelf so he decided to finally released a solo album. The record contains 13 tracks. The first one called "Missing Pieces" is a great opener with great guitar work and solo. Also, the keyboards kind of remind me of The Doors.

Second track on the album "Sixteen Saltines" is my favorite song of the record. It was released before the whole album came out and it is by far the heaviest song on the album with great and crazy music video, too. This track is probably the only one that kind of reminds the early White Stripes.

Third song "Freedom at 21" was released as a single little unusually - via helium balloon. What I like about this song is the retro sound of it.

Fourth track "Love Interruption" is the first acoustic track of the album and the first song released. It features female singer and it is just great mellow song, which got into me more and more as I listen to it.

Fifth track is title track and another acoustic song with nice piano. "Hypocritical Kiss" and "Weep Themselves To Sleep" are tracks that continue in that piano sound like "Blunderbuss". Especially "Weep Themselves To Sleep" has sick piano line.

Eighth track "I'm Shakin'" has awesome drums at the beginning. It is track featuring electric guitar after four acoustic track. It's got really good rhythm that makes me want to dance.

I kind of feel that five last tracks are losing their power and are not as good as previous ones. However, the ending of the last track - "Take Me With You When You Go" is just awesome. It is a great closer of the album.

Overal, I like the record a lot. I'm not saying that it is Jack White's best work, but it is pretty decent record. I like that it contains variety of different sounds and genres, which makes the record colorful.

Tracklisting:

1. "Missing Pieces"
2. "Sixteen Saltines"
3. "Freedom at 21"
4. "Love Interruption"
5. "Blunderbuss"
6. "Hypocritical Kiss"
7. "Weep Themselves to Sleep"
8. "I'm Shakin'"
9. "Trash Tongue Talker
10. "Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy"
11. "I Guess I Should Go to Sleep"
12. "On and On and On"
13. "Take Me with You When You Go"

Picture of the day: June 13, 2012

Alison Mosshart of The Kills going crazy during one of their earlier performances.

Song of the day: Slash - "Fall to Pieces"

Slash's recent acoustic performance at GuitarCenter featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. This is performance of Velvet Revolver track "Fall to Pieces", which originally features singer Scott Weiland (of Stone Temple Pilots). Good thing is that Velvet Revolver recently announced that they are back after Weiland rejoined the band. I'm excited about it a lot.
