End of Blur and Gorillaz?

In a recent interview with The Guardian magazine, frontman of Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn, said that both band will most likely end. Even though Blur are set to perform at this year's summer Olympics, there will be no more gigs or new music probably.

He said that the main reason for Blur not putting out anything new is relationship between bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. He said:

"It’s harder for them to reconnect. You know what I mean? It’s fine when we play live – it’s really magical still – but actually recording new stuff, and swapping musical influences… it’s quite difficult."

He also mentioned that we should not expect any more new music from Gorillaz either. He mentioned that he and his co-creator, animator Jamie Hewlett, "were at cross purposes somewhat on [Plastic Beach], which is a shame. So until a time comes when that knot has been untied…."

Frontman of both bands pointed out that "the music and the videos weren’t working as well together, but I felt we’d made a really good record, and I was into it. So we went and played it."

However, this does not mean that Damon Albarn is not doing anything. He's currently preparing record with his side project Rocket Juice And The Moon (with Flea and Tony Allen) and the soundtrack to his musical, Dr. Dee.

Watch new music video from Jack White

"Sixteen Saltines" is second track revealed from Jack White's debut solo album Blunderbuss, which is in stores on April 24. He also made a crazy video for this song. You can now watch it below.
