Hear two new Radiohead tracks

Radiohead played two new tracks during their gig at Miami on Monday. It was first show of their American tour. Of course, they are going to present mostly songs from their latest record The King Of Limbs during this tour.

However, they included two brand new songs during their decent 24-song set during the show at American Airlines Arena. First one is called "Identikit" and the second "Cut A Hole".

First song has dubstep atmosphere and "Cut A Hole" is very calming. Listen to them both below.

Song of the day: The Doors - "L.A. Woman"

Genius...

Song of the day: The Strokes - "Life Is Simple In The Moonlight"

My favorite track of their last record Angels. This performance makes the song even better with the sunset and the overall atmosphere.

Watch The Computers perform acoustically at The Ramones Museum

This video is actually not as new, but it really surprised me. The Computers is garage and sometimes even hardcore young band, which kicks it off really hard, especially live. However, during this performance from Berlin's The Ramones Museum they showed little different position of their sound. I was really surprised when I watched this video, but it is really good. Watch it here (via vimeo).

Meanwhile, you can also hear what they usually sound like:

Listen to new Arctic Monkeys song

Yesterday, Arctic Monkeys posted new track on YouTube. It is called "R U Mine?" and it also features pretty cool music video (actually, we are used to good videos from this band so it doesn't really surprise me). Anyway, enjoy the song and video.

Song of the day: A Perfect Circle - "The Package"

Public Image Limited announced EP and LP details

Ex-Sex Pistol's John Lydon's Public Image Limited has decided to release new EP and LP this year. EP called One Drop will contain four tracks and it will be out on April 21 (this year's Record Store Day).

Frontman John Lydon said about the EP:

"One Drop is a reflection of where I grew up in Finsbury Park, London. The area that shaped me, and influenced my culturally and musically, a place I will forever feel connected to. But within this I am also saying it doesn't matter where you come from, we all go through the same emotions especially the disenchanted youth of today, yesterday and the future. Bearing in mind the Olympics are in London this year and who knows what that could bring for London and our country…"

Tracklisting of One Drop:
"One Drop"
"I Must Be Dreaming"
"The Room I Am In"
"Lollipop Opera"

The new LP is entitled This Is PiL and it will be out on May 28.

Speaking to NME Lydon said about the LP:

"It comes from the heart and the soul. Whether that be electric, acoustic, digital or analogue, that's still heart and soul. It's not pop fodder and finely crafted pieces of fluff."

Listen to new Gorillaz song

In November, I informed you about Gorillaz releasing new song for Converse. New track is out now and it is entitled “DoYaThing”. The track also features Andre 3000 from OutKast and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. You can listen to the actual song at Converse Web site or below via YouTube.

Song of the day: Red Hot Chili Peppers - "I Could Have Lied"

Great version of one of my favorite songs from these guys. If you didn't know, this song is about Irish singer Sinead O'Connor. Anthony Kiedis had a relationship with her back then.

Picture of the day: February 23, 2012

This one is from Black Box Revelation. I think caption of the photo they posted on Facebook says it all:
"Tourtimes = living out of a suitcase for 5 weeks!
drumsticks&cowbell: check!
underwear: still fresh!
Yeehaa we're ready to rock&roll — at USA."

Picture of the day: February 22, 2012

Anti-Flag's frontman Justin Sane celebrated his birthday yesterday. As a gift the band is shooting new music video in a prison where Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Here's the picture of him during the shoot.

Hear new Kasabian track

Here you can here first new Kasabian's track since their latest record Velociraptor, which came out last year. New track is called "N.A.R.C.". Kasabian themselves call the track as First of Kasabian's Preliminary Expeditions Into The Spirit World. I'm not quite sure what that means, but hopefully we'll see. Anyway, the new song is little short (only 1:46) and it seems like it is not full track yet. It's more like an idea for future song. However, it's got pretty awesome acoustic guitar riff.

Song of the day: Wolfmother - "Vagabond"

These guys are awesome!

Into The Wild Soundtrack/Movie

Above is real Christopher McCandless' photo which was found near his body. Below is Emila Hirsch who played Christopher in the movie.
Into The Wild is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and you will still feel the same feeling as for the first time. Of course, huge amount of this feelings is brought to you because of its great soundtrack. All songs are especially written and recorded for this movie by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder except tracks "Hard Sun" and "Society".

Movie is based on true story in which young Christopher McCandless escapes from the world, his family and society itself. He eventually reaches Alaska. Even though he dies because of lack of knowledge of nature, this story is powerful and I admire people like him who have guts to leave everything and go live their dreams.
Eddie Vedder's music in this movie is just brilliant. It is composed with huge sensitivity - most of the songs feature just Eddie and acoustic guitars. My favorite song is "Society" which basically tells it all. Here is part of its lyrics:

"I think I need to find a bigger place
'cos when you have more than you think
You need more space

Society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
Society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me"

It's beautiful lyrics. I think that everyone has similar feelings like Christopher because everybody wants to escape everything from time to time. However, not all of us have the power to do it. Maybe, we eventually realize that this world is not so bad after all. But that is not what Christopher McCandless thought...

Actually, all the lyrics are very well written. I always listen to this soundtrack and it always makes me feel much better. It doesn't feature bad songs. They are all great and they all have their role and meaning.

If you haven't watched the movie or listened to its soundtrack, I definitely recommend you to do so because I actually don't know anybody who dislikes movie nor soundtrack.
Into The Wild tracklisting:

"Setting Forth"
"No Ceiling"
"Far Behind"
"Rise"
"Long Nights"
"Tuolumne"
"Hard Sun"
"Society"
"The Wolf"
"End of the Road"
"Guaranteed"

Watch Adele, Coldplay, Noel Gallagher and Florence + The Machine perform at Brit Awards 2012

Blur did the best performance last night during Brits. However, Adele, Coldplay, Noel Gallager and Florence + The Machine also performed during the ceremony and they did quite good as well. Adele played "Rolling In The Deep", Coldplay "Charlie Brown", Noel Gallagher "AKA What A Life" and Florence + The Machine played "No Light, No Light". Watch all these performances below.

Watch Blur's live comeback at Brits 2012

The Brit Awards 2012 took place last night in London. Of course, highlight of the whole ceremony was Blur's appearance. They hit the stage for the first time in three years. They played the longest set during which they performed five songs - "Song 2", "Girls and Boys", "Parklife", "Tender" and "This Is A Low". Check performances of all these songs down below. They were quite awesome and I think they completely deserve Outstanding Contribution To Music Award they got last night.

Song of the day: Oasis - "Live Forever"

Classic song. Shame that Gallagher brothers hate each other and there is probably like zero chance they get back together. Well, at least we can still go back in time by watching these videos... :)

Blur to perform at Olympics 2012

It looks like this year will be huge for newly reformed Blur. Yesterday I informed you about new song from these guys. They should also release new album this year after 9 years.

They are not only set to perform at today's Brit Awards (they will also receive Outstanding Contribution To Music Award), but also at Olympics 2012 ceremony. They will headline special concert at Hyde Park to celebrate the end of this year's summer Olympics.

Frontman of Blur Damon Albarn said about the performance:

"It'll be a proper party. It's the closing night of the Olympics. Our raison d'etre is to provide another celebration of a fantastic day."

New Order and The Specials will also perform at the ceremony.

Picture of the day: February 21, 2012

The Brit Awards are today. Blur and Coldplay will perform among others. Coldplay also posted photo via twitter of a place where the ceremony is happening today.

Listen to new song from Blur

Yes, Blur actually made a new song. I'm as surprised as you guys, but it is true. Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon performed song called "Under The West Way" at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London during a benefit concert for War Child. So it looks like they made a first step in making a new album as they promised. There is also video of the performance so check it out below.

Watch new The Drums music video

On Valentine's Day, The Drums released new music video for their new single "Days". It comes from their latest sophomore record Portamento, which came out last year. Watch the video below. It is little weird, but interesting.

Watch Black Box Revelation covering Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die"

"Born To Die" is one of few songs I like from this young phenomenon that released very anticipated album last month. Garage duo Black Box Revelation has decided to cover this track and you can watch it down below. I think it is pretty awesome cover. What do you think?

Picture of the day: February 20, 2012

Sum 41 were nominated for Grammy this year for the first time in their career. I think it was more then obvious they won't win it. Anyway, here is picture of them on red carpet. They seem to be pretty happy.

Song of the day: Franz Ferdinand - "Take Me Out"

Sunday, February 19, 2012

Watch new video from Black Box Revelation

Black Box Revelation will go on tour with Jane's Addiction in couple of days. The first show of the tour will take place in St. Louis, MO on February 22. However, after this tour they will go on their own My Perception World Tour 2012. They also made a video promoting the tour. You can now check it out below.

Song of the day: Muse - "Fillip"

Muse is one of the biggest bands in the world nowadays. However, this track is from their debut record Showbiz. They were awesome even in 2000 before they were famous. "Fillip" is in my opinion the best track of their first record and especially this performance is just great. They kicked ass during this show at London's Astoria.

Watch full intimate Bon Iver's gig

After Bon Iver won Grammys in categories Best Alternative Music Album for their great self-titled record and Best New Artist, they posted full intimate show on YouTube. This five-track gig took place at London's Associated Independent Recording Studio's Lyndhurst Hall. Watch the beautiful performance at the bottom of the post.

Setlist:

1. Hinnom, TX
2. Wash.
3. I Can't Make You Love Me
4. Babys
5. Beth/Rest

Picture of the day: February 19, 2012

This picture is set of photos of The Kills from their latest music video for "The Last Goodbye". It is beautiful song and music video is awesome as well. It features duo in classic photo booth. It is very honest video. In case you haven't seen it, watch it here.

Song of the day: The Inspector Cluzo - "Fuck Bass Player"

If you haven't heard about these guys, you need to give them a try. This french duo is just awesome. This track basically tells a story about their creation. They used to be a three-piece band. However, bass player frequently missed the rehearsals so they fired him and continued as a duo without bass. They are even better live. Their concerts have a lot of energy even though they're only two-piece.

Picture of the day: February 17, 2012

Today's picture of the day is photo from The Subways' recent video shoot. Couple of days ago, these british indie rockers shot new music video for their new single "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" from last year's Money And Celebrity . There's hot Charlotte getting ready to rock on the photo. The video itself should be out pretty soon.

Hear B-side track from The Kills

The Kills released single The Last Goodbye couple of days ago. It comes in two versions:

7” Limited Edition:
A. The Last Goodbye
B. One Silver Dollar

10” General Release:
A1. The Last Goodbye
A2. Pale Blue Eyes
B1. One Silver Dollar
B2. Crazy

You could already hear The Velvet's Underground cover "Pale Blue Eyes". However, they also performed Willie Nelson's "Crazy" during their recent gig at Terminal 5. You can watch the cover from the show here. It is really beautiful.

Picture of the day: February 16, 2012

Picture of the day is another new segment of my blog. I will post music pictures and tell a little story behind it.

First picture is a photo that Travis Barker posted on his twitter couple of days ago. It is photo of his drum kit with great drum chair. There is a sign on the chair saying "drums machine have no soul". I find it pretty awesome. It is true that no drum machine can substitute real human drummer.

Song of the day: The Offspring - "Pay The Man"

The Offspring's Americana, which came out in 1998 is one of my all times favorite albums. I've been listening to it since 2001 (I was only 11 years old) and it still has a lot to say to me even today. I don't think this album has low point. Even "Intro" is fucking awesome.

"Pay The Man" is the final track of the album. I gotta say, it is definitely not typical The Offspring because it's got these arabic guitar riffs, which actually sound awesome as a whole with other instruments. "Pay The Man" is also much longer than the regular song from these guys. Shame that a lot of people don't even bother listening to this song because it doesn't sound like The Offspring and it's little weird. Also, people today don't listen to albums, but only to songs (usually singles). I actually hate it when somebody says that loves certain band, but listens only to popular tracks. Anyway, this song is just epic.

Watch new Cults music video

Cults have released new music video for their new single "You Know What I Mean" from their debut self-titled record. Watch the video below.

Watch Green Day's studio update

Billie Joe, Tre and Mike have been quite quiet lately. Well, now we know what they've been up to. They've been in the studio recording new record.

Billy Joe recently posted on his twitter following:

"Happy Valantine's day! Officially started recording the new record today. It's FUCK TIME!!!!"

They also posted short studio update. It lasts only 20 seconds but hopefully more updates like this will eventually come. You can watch it below:

Of course, this is exciting news, but I didn't really like their last record 21st Century Breakdown. Hopefully, this one will be better for me. Of course, nothing can beat their masterpiece American Idiot...

Alkaline Trio create their own guitar

American company producing guitars - Fender, and Alkaline Trio joined forces and ideas to create new acoustic guitar designed for Alkaline Trio. Instrument is named Fender Alkaline Trio Mailbu. It has folk mahogany body, maple neck and fingerboard made of palisander.

Fender describes the guitar as following:

"Chicago punks Alkaline Trio jumped in on the design of what must be one of Fender’s most distinctive acoustic guitars ever, the Alkaline Trio Malibu. The instrument takes the classic ’60s-era sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dresses it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band, as seen gracing the cover of 2011 acoustic album Damnesia.

Premium features include a richly resonant all-mahogany body with the aforementioned AT-designed heart-shaped rosette, scalloped X bracing, C-shaped maple Stratocaster® neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, body and neck binding, rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, chrome hardware and gloss neck and body finish."

Twenty-fret guitar is according to Fender great acoustic guitar for all fans of Fender, old-school guitars and for everybody who likes a little different looking instrument.

For more information about Fender Alkaline Trio Malibu go to sweetwater.com or to Fender official store. The price of the instrument is 350 dollars.

Song of the day: The Kooks - "Junk Of The Heart"

The Kooks released third studio record last year entitled Junk Of The Heart. This is album's title track performed live. Great acoustic version of this fine song.

I will actually see these guys live for the second time in my life this summer at Rock For People festival. They are really great live band.

Guns N' Roses original lineup set to reunite

Well, what has been rumored quite for a long time is finally now officially confirmed. Guns N' Roses' original lineup, that means no Axl Rose and Reed with random musician that "form" today's Guns N' Roses, but all original members will reunite for their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys and Faces/Small Faces will be also inducted at the ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 14.

Keyboard player who joined the band in 1990 Dizzy Reed has told following:

"I know that all the original band is going to be there. I don't know exactly what's going to go down. It's one of those things I'm sure will all come together and be really cool."

However, if you think that the band will perform at the ceremony, you will probably be disappointed.

Reed explained:

"Honestly, we haven't spoken about it. I don't know when or why or how to bring it up. It's not an every day sort of thing. So we haven't really talked about it, but I'm sure we'll have to at some point."

Hear The Kills B-side track

The Kills have recently celebrated their tenth anniversary with show and live stream at Terminal 5, NYC. I watched the show and they were just awesome. They also released great music video for their new single "The Last Goodbye". However, The Kills never have enough and they made a short movie capturing their rituals before the show.

Calming track "The Last Goodbye" was released as a single on February 13. It is available as exclusive limited edition 7'' picture disc or general release 10'' /digital download.

7” Limited Edition:
A. The Last Goodbye
B. One Silver Dollar

10” General Release:
A1. The Last Goodbye
A2. Pale Blue Eyes
B1. One Silver Dollar
B2. Crazy

As you can see, 10'' edition contains Velvet Underground's cover "Pale Blue Eyes". You can listen to this cover here. The Kills did an excellent job with this track. They made it sound like The Kills with same power as Velvet Underground version. Enjoy!

Watch new music video from Jack White

I preciously told you that Jack White will release his debut solo record entitled Blunderbuss on April 23. "Love Interruption" is his first single from the album. Now he released music video for this track as well. It is nice video for this great mellow song. It features Jack White and some females performing song. You can watch it below.

Song of the day: Incubus - "Wish You Were Here"

Blur to release new record

Good, or even great news for all Blur fans out there. The band will release new album after long 9 years. Guitarist Graham Coxon told the NME:

"Blur will definitely record something. We always meet like this and we want to record something. We love recording. We're happy when we do music together. I think that's not bad basis at all for recording new album."

William Orbit should be producer of this record. He has previously worked with Robbie Williams or Madonna.

So, this is quite exciting news. I really wonder what new Blur album will sound like after long 9 years.

Listen to new single from Mars Volta

Mars Volta are set to release their sixth full-length record entitled Noctourniquet on March 26. However, now you can listen to the first single of the record called "The Malkin Jewel".

You can listen to track below. I like the track, but it is definitely not what I expected from these guys.

Memorable...

Memorable... will be a new segment at my blog. It will feature anything memorable regarding music. That means, it can be singer, guitar player, whole band, album, track, instrument, show, venue, festival, etc.

I created this segment because I want to talk about all these unforgettable stuff that happened in music throughout the years. First article should be done tonight or maybe tomorrow. I really want to do a great job on this one.

New Releases: 7th Week

This week seems to lack big amount of interesting new releases. The one I feel like I should mention is from indie poppers called Tennis. Their sophomore album Young And Old is out this week.

Listen to Jack White's b-side track

Recently I informed you about Jack White finally going solo. He will release new record on April 23. You have probably heard first song of the album called "Love Interruption". It is nice mellow song. However, I hope the whole record won't be this mellow and we will get some dirty blues-rock'n'roll.

Anyway, now you can listen to b-side track "Machine Gun Silhouette". This track is more bluesy than "Love Interruption". Check it out below.

Song of the day: Foo Fighters - "Walk"

Because they did so good at Grammies... Here is my recap of last night.

Grammy Awards 2012

Well, I gotta say that I am not big fan of Grammy Awards because I think they are too overrated. In fact, all music awards are overrated. The term good music is not defined by some statue of gramophone. Everyone likes different kind of music and different genre. It is irrelevant to say that This is the best album of the year and This Song is the best track of the year. I think that each person has his/her albums they liked a lot in 2011 and can decide which artist was the best or the worst according to their music style.

Anyway, Grammy Awards are the most respected music awards in the world and I am aware of the fact that they mean a lot for many people. Therefore, I am happy for Foo Fighters (Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance, Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Long Form Music Video) and Bon Iver (Best New Artist and Best Alternative Album). Also, I am not surprised that Adele won in so many categories because she's got an amazing voice.

Here is a list of winners in categories that matter to me:

Album Of The Year:
Adele – 21

Record Of The Year:
Adele – "Rolling In The Deep"

Song Of The Year:
Adele – "Rolling In The Deep"

Best New Artist:
Bon Iver

Best Alternative Album:
Bon Iver – Bon Iver

Best Rock Album:
Foo Fighters – Wasting Light

Best Rock Performance:
Foo Fighters – "Walk"

Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance:
Foo Fighters – "White Limo"

Best Rock Song:
Foo Fighters – "Walk"

Best Long Form Music Video:
Foo Fighters – Back And Forth

Watch new music video from Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag will release their new album The General Strike on March 12. However, now you can listen to new song "1915" and watch lyric video. It was filmed in Thailand during band's Southeast Asia tour. Check the video below.

Song of the day: Tool - "Parabola"

I don't think I have seen more disturbing music video than this... Anyways, it is a great song with very unusual music video.

Watch new music video from Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher and his band High Flying Birds released self-titled debut record last year. And it is great album - much better than record from his brother's band Beady Eye entitled Different Gear, Still Speeding.

On Friday, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds released new music video for new single "Dream On", which will be released on March 12. It will be available digitally or on vinyl (limited edition of 3000 pieces). The single will also contain B-side track "Shoot A Hole Into The Sun", which will be the first track revealed from Noel's collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous.

You can watch the "Dream On" video here:

Dave Grohl's making a movie

Dave Grohl is probably one of the coolest persons in rock music today. He was Nirvana's drummer during their best era, his new band Foo Fighters is one of the greatest rock bands now, he drummed in Queens Of The Stoneage, he has a side project with former Led Zeppelin's bassist John Paul Jones and Josh Homme Them Crooked Vultures and I could continue what he's done. However, now he goes little different direction.

He has decided to direct documentary movie called Sound City. The movie focuses on Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, CA, which was shut down in 2011. One of the greatest rock albums were recorded in the studio though.

Grohl said about the studio:

"That place was like a church. The list of people that recorded there is like a virtual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That funky old place had the best drum room in the world. The drum sound at the beginning of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit?’ That’s Sound City. I decided to make a film about that feeling when you put five guys in a room, hit ‘record’ and the hair on the back of your neck stands up. Expect some epic jam sessions."

Trent Reznor, Joshua Homme, Mick Fleetwood, Tom Petty, Lars Ulrich, Krist Novoselic, Alain Johannes, Cheap Trick, Corey Taylor, Butch Vig, Vinnie Appice, Barry Manilow, Frank Black, Taylor Hawkins and more will appear in the movie.

No release date was released yet, but you can watch trailer at soundcitymovie.com. I would say that this movie looks more than great and I'm really excited about it.

Watch The Kills full show from Terminal 5

The Kills celebrated their tenth birthday last night at NYC, Terminal 5. The show was also streamed live. In case you haven't seen it, you can still watch it. Go to mtvhive Web site to watch this awesome gig. I really hope this duo will celebrate twentieth birthday in ten years because they are awesome and unique band.

Song of the day: Anti-Flag - 1 Trillion Dolars

Anti-Flag is a punk band with strong political lyrics. This track is no exception.

Watch new music video from Bush

Bush released fifth studio record The Sea Of Memories after long 10 years last year. "Baby Come Home" is their new single. They also released music video for this track. You can check it out here (via YouTube).

Even though these guys probably have their best years behind them, new record is quite good and they still make great music. My favorite song of the album is "All Night Doctors". Below you can check awesome performance of this track. It reminds me "Glycerine" a little.

Watch The Kills perform at Letterman

The Kills have released their last record Blood Pressures almost a year ago. However, they are still strong. It is their best record so far. Last night they performed at Late Show with David Letterman. They played one track - the newest single of the album "The Last Goodbye". Once again, these guys did an awesome performance. Alisson Mosshart's sexy voice and appearance always gets me...

In case you didn't know, single The Last Goodbye is out on February 14.  In addition to "The Last Goodbye" it will feature three other tracks - The Velvet Underground’s "Pale Blue Eyes", Patsy Cline’s "Crazy", and Marilyn Monroe’s "One Silver Dollar". So we have a lot to look forward to.

Song of the day: Editors - "Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors"

Editors is a great british band. This is their performance of "Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors" at Oxegen Festival 2008 from their second record An End Has A Start. It is such an awesome performance. Especially the ending is powerful (from 3:20). Enjoy!

Watch The Vaccines perform at Amoeba

Amoeba is one of the largest independent record stores of the world. They also run Youtube channel. It mostly features performances of artists at the record store and popular segment "What's In My Bag", in which celebrities show what records they bought at the store. Here you can watch The Vaccines performing "Post Break-Up Sex" at Amoeba.

Song of the day: Queens Of The Stone Age - "The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret"

Slash to release new album in May

Slash is set to release his second studio record on May 22 via his own label - Dik Hayd International. It will feature Slash's touring band that consists of Alter Bridge guitarist and songer Myles Kennedy, drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns.

The record doesn't have a title or tracklisting yet. However, you can check Slash and co. working in studion on the record in the video below. Title of the video says "Episode One" so there will hopefully be more videos like this in the future.

Slash said about the album:

“Myles and I basically collaborated on the new material. The main thing is we wrote these songs together which is a big difference from the last album where I wrote each song with all of the different collaborators. The whole creative nucleus is between Myles and me. On top of this, the whole rhythm section of Brent and Todd brings something to the table and changes the dynamic completely from the last record–it’s much more cohesive.”

Watch new music video from Black Box Revelation

Black Box Revelation is a garage band (or better said duo) from Belgium. These guys released their third record My Perception in October last year. It is pretty decent record. "Bitter" is third single of the album. You can watch brand new music video for this track here.

Black Box Revelation are also going on tour with Jane's Addiction on February 22. It is called Theater of the Escapist Tour. It is going to take place at intimate venues and The Black Box Revelation will be a support band. So you can check them out at one of these venues. To see all the BBR tour dates, go here.

Album Review: Enter Shikari - A Flash Flood Of Colour

The whole world is in trouble nowadays. Economic crisis hit the whole world, icebergs are melting and near east represents huge threat to western world. Most of the people are afraid to face these facts. However, Rou Reynolds, Rob Rolfe, Chris Batten a Rory Clewlow, aka Enter Shikari, aren't afraid of unpleasant topics. They fight fot the third time at the beginning of magical year 2012 with their instruments and their voices against everything that is wrong in this world.

Enter Shikari's third record is called A Flash Flood Of Colour. Fans have been waiting for this album with huge expectations. I think that the band haven't betrayed their fans and this year is going to be huge for these guys. This record is colorful, extensive and ruthless. Enter Shikari really don't hide behind anything but their instruments. They have a lot to say and people actually listen to them. Enter Shikari try to join all the forces against all corporations ruining the world for money and fight for better tomorrow.

A Flash Flood Of Colour is record, which is once again (like their previous 2007's Take To The Skies ans 2009's Common Dreads) unique, rude and completely new. It is different album, but still, it is Enter Shikari like we know them - energic, melodic, tough and lyrically uncompromising. There may be no revolution musically like when they released revolutionary Common Dreads, but there are many new stuff once again. The most recognizing thing is sound of the record. It's got booming character that kicks ass.

However, the sound itself doesn't make a good record. Enter Shikari only start with great sound though. The album has huge variety of different sounds that are hard to describe. It's got keyboard parts, guitar riffs, drum'n'bass beats and hard melodies. It is quite popular these days to mix these different sounds, but Enter Shikari can combine sounds like no other band - with great energy and atmosphere.

In overal, this album is great. This "mess" is really enjoyable to listen. It's got many new elements and every track is good on this record. I think that it doesn't have a low point. Even though this record is not as revolutionary and good as Common Dreads, these guys have a lot to say and more importantly, they know how to say it.

Metallica have their own festival

Metallica probably have played at every major music festival in the world. They have played for millions of people all over the world, but they have never curated their own music summer festival. Until now.

Their festival is called Orion music festival and it will take place in Atlantic City, NJ on June 23 - 24 at Bader field. Metallica will be headlining both nights. First night they will perform The Black Album in its entirety and on second night they are set to perform the whole Ride The Lightning album.

Metallica have chosen 22 other bands, which will perform at festival. It is a mixture of metal, hard rock and indie rock bands. Playing will be Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Fucked Up, The Gaslight Anthem, Best Coast, Titus Andronicus, Cage the Elephant, A Place to Bury Strangers, Roky Erickson, Lucero, Hot Snakes, The Black Angels, Gary Clark Jr., The Sword, Liturgy and Avenged Sevenfold.

I would say it is pretty interesting lineup. Tickets will go on sale on February 11 at 10 am EST. For those who are members of Metallica's fan club, tickets will be available from February 8 -10.

Go to OrionMusicAndMore.com for more information about this festival.

Anyway, what other artists would you like to see curating their own festival? I would love Dave Grohl to create his own festival. I bet it would have kick-ass lineup.

Bon Iver will take some time off

Justin Vernon had a successful year with his band Bon Iver after release of their sophomore self-titled record. Bon Iver surprised all music critics and fans. Also, the album was nominated for Grammy several times. However, next Bon Iver record won't be released anytime soon.

Vernon said in an interviw for USA Today following:

"I haven't written any new songs. It may take three or even five years for me to write some. Songs need to come naturally to me and I only have to wait."

He later explained that he will focus on his earlier projects Volcano Choir and The Shouting Matches. He also plans to collaborate with Alicia Keys.

Justin Vernon is a busy guy. He started his own record company called Chigliak Records. He plans to release forgotten records and some new as well via this record company.

Check out new The Flaming Lips track featuring Siri

The Flaming Lips is a band that always does something unusual and great at the same time. These guys just know how to be different and that's one of the things I like about them.

This time, they released track featuring iPhone's Siri. Yes, that's right, The Flaming Lips actually made a song featuring AI application. It is called "Now I Understand" and it is available on Soundcloud only for one week.

The track also features Erykah Badu and Biz Markie and it is actually not bad. It is little weird, but it is listenable.  Check it out here.

Song of the day: The Vaccines - "Tiger Blood"

The Vaccines are a young band that released their debut record only last year. "Tiger Blood" is not on the record because it was released lin December as part of Wetsuit single. This track was produced by The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. It is awesome tune with kick-ass chorus. I just can't wait until these guys release another record. It should be this year...
