Song of the day: Eddie Vedder - "Sleeping By Myself"

I've been quite silent lately on my blog, but I am currently really busy with my school and stuff. Therefore, I haven't got much time to write. However, I'll try to make it up to you next week with several posts per day.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder released his sophomore solo record last year. It is called Ukulele Songs and it features original songs collected over longer period of time and also some covers. All tracks are obviously performed with ukulele.

Just today, Eddie revealed new music video for second track of the album - "Sleeping By Myself". The video actually doesn't reflect lyrics of the track, but it shows how Eddie's ukulele was made in Hawaii. It is really interesting how the ukulele is made. Check this pretty video out below.

Song of the day: The Gaslight Anthem - "Here Comes My Man"

The Gaslight Anthem released an awesome record this year called Handwritten. I admire how this band found perfect combination of punk and stadium rock very similar to Bruce Springsteen's style. Many people talk shit about this band because they think they are copy of Bruce Springsteen. I don't think it is true and I just think it works very well for these guys and they proved it once again with this album.

Track called "Here Comes My Man" is after "45" and "Handwritten" third single of the album. Couple of days ago, they revealed music video for this track. It also features very sexy actress Elisha Cuthbert. Check the video below.

New video: Paul Banks - "Young Again"

You all probably know very awesome post-punk band from New York called Interpol. Their musical style could be best compared to bands such as The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand or Talking Heads. However, Interpol's music is little darker, so for a lot of people they are very similar to Joy Division and I agree.

Anyway, during their career they've released four studio albums. Their debut entitled Turn On The Bright Lights is considered as one of the most important albums of this genre. The album was very unique back in 2002 and it still sounds brilliant. Sad thing though is, they haven't made such good record anymore. The latest is self-titled and was released in 2010. After touring behind this record in 2010 and 2011, the band announced they will go on hiatus

Main reason is probably frontman's (Paul Banks) focus on his solo career. He previously released debut solo album under the name Julian Plenti called Julian Plenti Is... Skyscraper in 2009. He also released 5-track EP earlier this year. Couple of days ago, he released his very anticipated sophomore record simply called Banks.

It features 10 new tracks and based on my two listens to it, I don't actually like it as much. To me, it is kind of boring and maybe also pointless. I mean, it is very similar to his main band and it just brings nothing new.

Anyway, Paul Banks recently revealed new music video for the first single of the album called "Young Again". You can now check it out below. In my opinion, the music video is better than the song itself.

New music video: The Black Keys & RZA - "The Baddest Man Alive"

Earlier this month, I informed you about new track from The Black Keys & RZA called "The Baddest Man Alive". It is featured on soundtrack for movie called Man With The Iron Fists. The movie was actually directed and written by RZA himself and it will hit theatres on November 2 in the US and in other countries obviously some time later.

The soundtrack for this motion picture is actually already out (it was released yesterday). Day ahead of its release, The Black Keys & RZA unveiled music video for their awesome track. Go check this video out below. In fact, it is as good as the song itself.

Also, if you wanna stream the soundtrack in its entirety, now you can here:

Check out new song from Bullet For My Valentine

Yesterday, I wrote about Bullet For My Valentine's new album called Temper Temper. Well, yesterday I didn't know that they will actually reveal first track of this album couple of hours after my post. It is title track of the album and I feel that we will get more news about their upcoming album in near future, because so far we haven't got any details about Temper Temper and I think that it is time when we consider they want to release it in early 2013.

The track itself is alright... I guess. But like I wrote yesterday, I didn't like their previous album called Fever and I won't probably be a big a fan of this one either. Anyway, check "Temper Temper" below.

Song of the day: Bullet For My Valentine - "Whole Lotta Rosie"(ACDC cover)

Welsch metal band Bullet For My Valentine will release its fourth studio album called Temper Temper sometime in 2013 (no album details have been announced yet). Although I like this band (better said I like their first two albums), I'm kind of skeptical about this record because Fever was quite disappointment for me. And based on their statement that new album will sound like their 2010's effort, I don't have a good feeling about it. Anyway, we'll see.

They recently covered ACDC's classic "Whole Lotta Rosie" during their Radio 1's Live Lounge performance. You can check it out below.

Watch The Killers perform on Letterman

Last month, The Killers released one of the most anticipated (if not the most) albums of the year. As Battle Born was approaching its release date, it had been all over the news (and not only music news). The Killers truly attract a lot of people and are definitely currently one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

Their recent album effort only proved it. It sold well in both UK and the US as well. In overal, it's got mostly positive reviews. Although, some people claim that it just doesn't work for them anymore and that The Killers will never release as good album as their debut album called Hot Fuss, I say it is good. Actually, it is probably my second favorite record from this band.

Of course, the band is currently massively touring and promoting the Battle Born. Recently they also appeared on Letterman. In fact, you can now watch performances of 11 songs from this gig (I think it is the entire show, but I'm not sure) below. They played new tracks as well as their older classics.

Check out new track from Tegan and Sara

You all probably know very popular indie pop duo Tegan and Sara, which consists of twins Tegan Rain Quin and Sary Keirsten Quin. These girls have been on the scene since 1995 and have released 6 studio albums.

The seventh record entitled Heartthrob will be out in early 2013 (no official release date has been announced yet). First track revealed from this album is song called "I'm Not Your Hero" and it was revealed only recently. You can now check it out at the bottom of the post.

This Canadian duo is also set to release a special compilation for british iTunes store only. And it will also feature this song.

Tegan and Sara are also quite busy touring a lot nowadays. They have been touring for some time now and they will continue touring pretty much for the rest of the year. They will head to UK as opening act for The Killers during their tour. To see all their tour dates, visit their website.

Play Motion City Soundtrack's 8-bit game

American band Motion City Soundtrack released their fifth studio album entitled Go in June of this year. It features 11 tracks and it overally received quite positive reviews. I also like the record, but I think it lacks originality. It all sounds like I've already heard it somewhere.

Anyway, if you still want to stream the album, you can via playlist made by Epitaph Records YouTube channel (record label of the band). Start the playlist featuring all the songs of the album as well as some interviews here.

First single of the album is track called "True Romance". The band recently also made a 8-bit video game with this title. The game is simple adventure in which you can play for any member of the band. If you finish the game, as a reward you can listen to 8-bit version of "True Romance". Play the game here.

Watch Metric perform at Radio City Music Hall

This Canadian indie rock band, which has a great singer Emily Haines, has been pretty busy touring since release of their fifth studio album entitled Synthetica in Juny. Although they have currently little break, in November, they are set to tour in their home country Canada. After that, they will play some shows in the US. To see all their scheduled tour dates, visit their website.

They also recently performed at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Fuse was kind enough and uploaded five songs from this show on their YouTube channel. You can now watch all of them at the bottom of the post. As usually, Metric put out an awesome performance.

List of uploaded tracks:

"Synthetica"
"Artificial Nocturne"
"Youth Without Youth"
"Gold Guns Girls"
"Speed the Collapse"

Song of the day: The Uniques - "Dungeon"

The Uniques is a band from Slovakia, which is just amazing. They sing in English so they can more easily get recognised in other countries. Their music is mixture of rock, electric music and many other genres. Their sound is also influenced by 80's music and simply just music experimentation is what they do. But they do it really well.

So far, they've only released one LP called From The Dust. It features 7 great tracks including song called "Dungeon". You can now check out this track along with music video.

Stream new albums from Bat for Lashes and Gary Clark Jr.

Last month, I wrote about new album from Gary Clark Jr. This awesome guitar player is set to release his new album next week (October 22). It is called Blak and Blu and it features 13 tracks. Gary's musical style can be best described by the lead single of new record, track called "Ain't Messin 'Round". Check out the song below.

If you like Gary Clark Jr.'s Hendrix-alike sound and don't want to wait until the album is officially out, you can now stream it in its entirety via iTunes. You may have some troubles with the stream though because it is apparently not available in all countries. However, I'm pretty sure if you try to find the album, you'll be able to download it...

Bat for Lashes' new album entitled The Haunted Man is also available to be streamed. Although, it is already out (it was released on October 12), you can still stream it via NPR here. It may help you decide whether you should buy the album or not.

Picture of the day: October 18, 2012

Austin City Limits festival took place last weekend (October 12-14) in Austin, Texas. Awesome bands like  Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, The Black Keys, Florence and the Machine, Jack White and many more played at this festival. Good thing was that many of these performances were actually broadcasted live so even if you weren't there, you could watch some great artists perform.

Canadian indie rock band called Metric also played this festival. Band that recently released their fifth studio record entitled Synthetica is quite good life and their performance at ACL was no exception (it was broadcasted live as well) . This is shot of Emily Haines, singer of the band, from this festival:

Yesterday (October 16), Muse started their arena tour in support of their latest record The 2nd Law. First stop of the tour was Park&Suits Arena, Montpellier, France. At the bottom of the post is a photo of playlist from this show. What do you think of it? Did they play all the songs you would wanna hear on their concert? Anyway, what do you think of their new album?

To see all their tour dates of this tour, visit their website.

Check out new music video from Placebo

As I previously informed you, my favorite band Placebo released new EP entitled B3 this past Monday (September 15). It is their first new album in more than three years (if I'm counting right...).

All Placebo fans were pretty hyped about this after the band announced it and I think Placebo fulfilled their expectations with this EP. It sounds good, although they used little too much electronic music for me. But like I said, I like it. The only problem I have with this EP is that it is not a LP. However, I hope we'll get full-length album in near future, too.

Today, the band revealed also a new music video for title track "B3". I'd say that it is typical Placebo music video - little weird and little pessimistic but kind of encouraging as well. Check it out below.

Song of the day: Grizzly Bear - "Yet Again"

Grizzly Bear is an American band, which mixes mostly folk and rock music with elements of psychedelic music. This four-piece band from Brooklyn, New York has been on the scene since 2002. Since then, they've released 4 studio album.

The last one entitled Shields was released just recently - on September 18. The album got actually really positive reviews. I also like the album quite a lot.

The band is currently on the tour in support of their latest effort. They just recently finished tour throughout the North America and now they are in the UK. Rest of the Europe and Australia are next. To see all their tour dates, visit their website.

Yesterday, they found some time off and stopped by at BBC studios where they performed for Later... with Jools Holland. They performed "Yet Again", which is obviously track (and also second single) from Shields. Check the performance below.

Picture of the day: October 16, 2012

You probably know that The Third Man Records is an independent record label founded by Jack White in 2001. Its major building is located in Nashville, Tennessee where you can find record store, performance venue (otherwise called The Blue Room) and, of course, headquarters of the label.

This label releases music on all kind of formats, but their main format is vinyl.

All Jack White's projects (The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, solo) obviously release their records under this label. However, artists like Black Lips, Karen Elson, The Black Belles, Alabama Shakes, Beck and others have also released their records via The Third Man Records. To see full catalog, visit their website.

This label also organizes various kind of events. Most importantly, they invite artists to perform at their performance venue. This month, they scheduled these artists to perform at their headquarters:

The Shins - October 6
The Kills - October 10
Olivia Wyatt - October 23
Seasick Steve - October 26

Here is a photo from last week's show when The Kills performed at The Blue Room.

Song of the day: Adele - "Skyfall"

Adele has been taking a little rest during this year. In October of last year, she had to undergo vocal cord surgery and although, she appeared in February at Grammy Awards, she has been otherwise quiet the whole year (at least regarding music - in June, she announced that she is expecting her first baby).

However, things quite change when she announced she's been writing theme song for new James Bond movie called Skyfall. The song is also called "Skyfall" and it was released earlier this month (October).

The track was written by Adele and british producer and songwriter Paul Epworth (who has previously worked with artists like Bloc Party, Babyshambles, Kate Nash, Primal Scream, Florence and the Machine or Foster the People).

You can now listen to the song and watch music video for this track, which was made by Nick Chappell below.

The Rolling Stones finally confirmed 50th anniversary concerts

You all probably know that legendary band The Rolling Stones is celebrating their 50th anniversary as a band this year. For this occasion, they released book, documentary, changed their logo and will also release two new songs (one of them called "Doom and Gloom" is already out), which will be featured on new compilation entitled Grrr! (it is out on November 12).

However, many people were waiting for some live shows. They have been previously rumoured, but no official announcements were made. Until yesterday.

They have finally confirmed four 50th anniversary celebration shows. The band will perform on November 25 and 29 at London's O2 Arena and on December 13 and 15 at Newark's Prudential Center.

Mick Jagger said about the chosen places of shows:

"Everybody loves a celebration, and London and New York are two good places to do it in!"

Guitarist Keith Richards added:

"Sorry to keep you all hanging around but the waiting is over. I’ve always said the best place for rock and roll is on the stage and the same is true for the Stones. I’m here with Mick, Charlie and Ronnie and everything is rocking. See you very soon!"

For ticket information, visit band's website.

Also, check out the video of the band officially announcing the tour dates:

Check out new music videos from The xx, Two Door Cinema Club and Billy Talent

There was quite a lot of new music videos released lately. The xx, Two Door Cinema Club and Billy Talent all have new (and also great) videos out.

First video I'm gonna write about is from british minimalistic indie pop band The xx. London trio released their sophomore record entitled Coexist in September of this year. They continue with their typical sound on this record because why change anything what already is good and people love it, right?

Anyway, first single of the album was track called "Angles", which was actually released almost two months ahead of the album release - July 17. Second single of the album called "Chained" was also released before the album came out - on August 7. However, there was no music video for it, until now.

Yesterday (October 15), the band finally released music video for "Chained". It was directed by Young Replicant and it was made with conjunction with The Creators Project. Check out this beautiful video below.

Second video is from Irish indie rock band Two Door Cinema club, which also released their second album this year. Record entitled Beacon was released in late August. First single of it was track called "Sleep Alone". The second one is entitled "Sun"and it will be out on November 19. The music video is already made though. Check this interesting video below.

Last video I'm gonna write about is from Canadian rock band Billy Talent. Their fourth record entitled Dead Silence was released on September 11. After "Viking Death March", we now have a new single called "Surprise Surprise". Check out the music video for it below.

Green Day revealed ;Tré! tracklisting + ;Dos! trailer

The band finally revealed tracklisting of last album of the trilogy yesterday. It will feature these 12 tracks:

"Missing You"
"8th Avenue Serenade"
"Drama Queen"
"X-Kid"
"Sex, Drugs & Violence"
"Little Boy Named Train"
"Amanda"
"Walk Away"

Check out new track from The Black Keys & RZA

Garage rock band The Black Keys teamed up with hip-hop producer Robert Fitzgerald Diggs aka RZA and made a new track. It is called "The Baddest Man Alive" and it will be featured on soundtrack for new movie called The Man With the Iron Fists. It will hit stores on October 23.

The movie is produced by legendary Quentin Tarantino and directed by RZA. Soundtrack for the movie features artists such as Kanye West, Method Man or Mabel John (see the tracklisting at the bottom of the post).

Anyway, stream already mentioned track from The Black Keys and RZA called "The Baddest Man Alive" here (via Fuse). It is quite awesome track. Garage rock with hip hop obviously does work when it's done properly like in this case.

Tracklisting of The Man With the Iron Fists Soundtrack:

01. The Black Keys & RZA – "The Baddest Man Alive"
02. Ghostface Killah, M.O.P & Pharoahe Monch – "Black Out"
03. Kanye West – "White Dress"
04. The Revelations feat. Tre Williams – "I Forgot To Be Your Lover"
05. Talib Kweli & RES – "Get Your Way (Sex as a Weapon)"
06. Raekwon, Ghostface Killah & Kool G. Rap – "Rivers of Blood"
07. Method Man, Freddie Gibbs & StreetLife – "Built for This"
08. 24 Carat Black – "Poverty’s Paradise"
09. Killa Sin – "The Archer"
10. RZA & Flatbush Zombies – "Just Blowin’ In The Wind"
12. Corrine Bailey Rae – "Chains"
13. Pusha T & Raekwon – "Tick Tock"
14. Frances Yip – "Green is the Mountain"
15. The Wu-Tang Clan – "Six Directions of Boxing"
16. Mabel John – "Your Good Thing Is About To End"

Watch Bloc Party perform at Jimmy Kimmel

Recently reunited Bloc Party appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live show last week.

After (and also before) the release of their fourth comeback album entitled simply Four in August of this year, they've been on the road pretty much all the time. They are constantly touring throughout both Europe and the US. They are currently in the UK though. To check all their tour dates, visit their website.

Like I've already said, last week they also make an appearance at Jimmy Kimmel Live show. They performed two songs from their newest effort - single "Octopus" and iTunes Store bonus track "Black Crown".

Both performances are decent, but I feel like they lack more energy. Also, I don't like sound of Russell's guitar during "Octopus". In compare to the studio version of the song, it's got much smaller balls. Anyway, check both performances below.

Song of the day: Stone Sour - "Gone Sovereign"

Some time ago, I informed you about new music from Corey Taylor's second band Stone Sour + their upcoming two new albums. Based on "Gone Sovereign" and "Absolute Zero", their new records will be heavier. And I'm afraid it may not be the best move because now a lot of people will link them with Slipknot. However, new tracks aren't bad.

Anyway, now we have here new music video for one of two already revealed tracks - "Gone Sovereign". It is pretty straight-forward video with nothing unusual in it. It is just band playing in front of some people. Well, maybe there is one unusual think about it and that is Corey's really weird eyeliner…

Anyway, here's the video (and don't forget, House of Gold and Bones Part 1 is out on October 22):

Watch new music video from Lana Del Rey

Singer Lana Del Rey will release new EP on November 13. The EP is called Paradise (or Born to Die - Paradise Edition) and it will feature 9 tracks.

Eight of them were actually written or co-written by Lana Del Rey herself. One song was written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris and it is called "Blue Velvet" (it was featured in her recent H&M ad).

However, first single of the EP is called "Ride" (it is actually featured as first track on the album, too). It will be Del Rey's sixth single and it will come out later this month, on September 25. The track itself is definitely one of her more dynamic and fast.

Couple of days ago, there was also released a music video for this track. It is 10-minute long music video, which is made not just to impress and please record company, but become cult. Yup, it is as good.

The video is about a girl (Lana Del Rey) who tries to become a singer. However, it is not as easy. She feels lonely and therefore she tries to find home in arms of several men. It is simple and complex at the same time. It has really deep idea. Its surrealistic vibe is just amazing. Check this awesome peace of art at the bottom of the post.

Tracklisting of Paradise:

"Ride"
"American"
"Cola"
"Body Electric"
"Blue Velvet"
"Gods and Monsters"
"Yayo"
"Bel Air"
"Burning Desire"

Listen to new track from The Rolling Stones

In September, I wrote a post about The Rollin Stones and their 50th anniversary celebration plans. They released a book with 1000 illustrations entitled The Rolling Stones 50, made a documentary movie called Crossfire Hurricane and also changed their logo (which is by the way one of the most recognizable logos of all time) to mark this occasion.

However, the most exciting thing about this big anniversary celebration is release of career-spanning compilation entitled GRRR!, which will feature two brand new tracks. First one called "Gloom and Boom" is already available to listen on YouTube.

And I gotta say, it sounds good. It's typical rock'n'roll track like we love from The Rolling Stones. It'g got catchy guitar riff that really gets you. You can check it out now below along with lyric video that was released with it.

And don't forget, second new song from The Rolling Stones "One More Shot" is coming soon.

Listen to new albums from Coheed and Cambria and Ben Gibbard

Earlier this month, I wrote about two new albums from Coheed and Cambria. They are called The Afterman: Ascension and The Afterman: Descension. The first one actually already came out this week (October 9) and the second one is set to be in stores sometime in February 2013.

If you are not decided yet whether you wanna buy the album or not, you can first listen to it and then decide because it is available to stream via Rolling Stone magazine. I gave it a try once and it sounds really good.

Frontman of Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Gibbard, is also releasing a new album. It will be his debut effort as a solo artist. It is entitled Former Lives and it will be out next week (October 16).

And you can also stream it in its entirety, this time via YouTube. I can't get off the feeling though that it sounds too much like album from his main band. I've said it already and I'll say it again - what's the point of doing a solo album when it sounds exactly like Death Cab for Cutie record? Anyway, give it a try below.

Check out Jack White's new music video

Genius Jack White just released new music video for song called "I'm Shakin'". Of course, track comes from his debut solo album Blunderbuss, which was released in April of this year (check out my review of it here).

Crazy song "I'm Shakin'" is fourth single of the album and also my favorite. It's got this groovy main guitar riff, which just makes you wanna dance. It is definitely one of the heavier tracks feaured on Blunderbuss.

The single will be released as a 7'' vinyl along with non-album B-side "Blues on Two Trees" on October 16. On October 30, the single will also get digital and physical release.

But let's go back to the video now. It was directed by Dori Oskowitz and it is actually really cool. It features "two Jack Whites" rocking against each other. One has all-female band and the other all-male band. The director did really awesome work on this one. Check it out below.

Watch new music video from Neil Young

Immortal Neil Young, who is still rocking big time, released new album in collaboration with band Crazy Horse earlier this year. Record called Americana is a mixture of older American songs, which were re-arranged for this album. The album has got mixed reviews, but I think it's not that bad.

However, Americana won't be the only album released by Neil Young this year. On October 30, he and Crazy Horse will release double album called Psychedelic Pill. As album title suggests, it will sound little different than Americana.

I actually really look forward for this album because tracks are pretty lengthy (the longest is the opener "Driftin' Back" and lasts 27 minutes and 36 seconds!) and based on first track revealed form this album - "Ramada Inn", the album will just sound awesome. I really love psychedelic music, especially psychedelic rock, so I'm stoked for it.

As I mentioned above, "Ramada Inn" is the first track revealed from the album. Pitchfork magazine also recently posted a music video for it on their YouTube channel. The video is as awesome as the music itself. Check it out below.

Psychedelic Pill tracklisting:

Disc: 1
1. "Driftin Back"
2. "Psychedelic Pill"
3. "Ramada Inn"
4. "Born In Ontario"

Disc: 2
1. "Twisted Road"
2. "She's Always Dancing"
3. "For The Love Of Man"
4. "Walk Like A Giant"
5. "Psychedelic Pill (Bonus Track Alternate Mix)"

Song of the day: The Vaccines - "Teenage Icon"

The Vaccines is a band, which basically hasn't stopped for a moment since release of their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, which came out in early 2011. Since then, they have toured basically the whole world and even had time to release sophomore record on September 3, 2012. It is entitled The Vaccines Come of Age and once again, it is good.

New album has got everything you loved about the old album plus more. You can definitely hear more mature sound on this record. Of course, they didn't change their sound completely and therefore if you are one of those people who don't like their first record, you won't probably like Come of Age either.

Anyway, it is incredible what these guys have already achieved during their three-year career. They are set to go on tour later this month, which will end with their biggest headline show to date on May 2 in London's O2 arena. See all the tour dates here.

The Vaccines also stopped by and played at Later...with Jools Holland last night. Check a performance of "Teenage Icon" from this show below.

Picture of the day: October 9, 2012

British band The Wombats posted this photo on their Facebook page couple of days ago. It captures the band during Pure Volume sessions.

Watch Ben Howard perform at Jimmy Kimmel

British folk singer Ben Howard made a live appearance at Jimmy Kimmel Live show last night (October 8). He performed two songs from his only album Every Kingdom (check out my mini review of it here) - "The Wolves" and "Only Love".

Of course, both performances are amazing. His guitar skills are really good and that's main aspect of his music. Also, I like his voice even though I heard opinions claiming that he can't really sing. But I don't think it is true.

Watch new music video from The Vaccines

British The Vaccines are releasing third single entitled "I Always Knew" from their recent Come of Age album on November 11. For this occasion, yesterday they released music video for this track. It features singer Justin Young and some random girl on roller coaster having some fun together. Check it out at the bottom of the post.

The band will also go on extensive tour throughout Europe, South America, Australia and USA starting on October 14 in Corona Capital, Mexico. Big tour will end on May 2 in London's O2 Arena. It will be their biggest headline show to date. To see all their tour dates, visit their website.

Song of the day: Tomahawk - "Stone Letter"

Mike Patton was pretty busy touring with his main band Faith No More during late June and early July of this year. They scheduled 9 shows throughout the Europe. Although one of the shows they were supposed to play at Rock for People festival, Czech republic, didn't happen because of a storm.

Anyway, many fans, including me, actually hoped we could get some new music from this legendary band. Their last album to date entitled Album of the Year came out in 1997. That means, they haven't put out any new music in long 15 years. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem it will happen any time soon.

Mike Patton's side band Tomahawk, which he formed with ex-The Jesus Lizard guitar player Duane Denison, released new track and is about to release a new album in early 2013.

First new album in six years is called Oddfellows and will be out on January 29 via Ipecac Recordings. First track revealed form this album is called "Stone Letter" and you can listen to it here (via Spin).

The band also announced several tour dates throughout North America, Australia and South America including Australia’s Soundwave and both Latin American installments of Lollapalooza. Check them out below.

October 27 - Nashville, TN @ Exit Inn
October 28 - New Orleans, LA @ Voodoo Fest
October 29, - Memphis, TN @ New Daisy Theater
October 31 - Dallas, TX @ Granada Theatre
November 1 - Houston, TX @ Fitzgerald's
November 2 - Austin, TX @ Fun Fun Fun Fest

02/23 – Brisbane, AU @ Soundwave Festival
02/24 – Sydney, AU @ Soundwave Festival
03/01 – Melbourne, AU @ Soundwave Festival
03/02 – Adelaide, AU @ Soundwave Festival
03/04 – Perth, AU @ Soundwave Festival
03/29 – Sao Paulo, BR @ Lollapalooza Brazil

Check out Bloc Party's new music video

British indie rock band Bloc Party, which recently reunited and consequently released their fourth comeback studio album simply entitled Four in August of 2012, has a new music video.

It is made for new second single of the record called "Kettling". It will officially be released next month (November 12).

It is one of the heavier tracks on the record and it is really good as the whole album actually. Although many people say they came back to their original sound, which isn't necessarily a good thing, I really dig guitar-driven sound more than their more electronic efforts (e.g. third album Intimacy).

Anyway, there are always two sides. One represents the people that say the band stopped their evolution and used nothing new on this record. Other side of the coin represents the people, which appreciate their "back-to-the-roots" sound. I belong to the second group. What do you think of the record?

Anyway, check out the new music video below. It was directed by James Lees who previously worked with Two Door Cinema Club, Blood Red Shoes or Shakira.

Picture of the day: October 8, 2012

Last month, I informed you that Deftones will release their new album entitled Koi No Yokan on November 13. First track revealed from this record is song called "Leathers" and you can check it out below:

Now they revealed second song from the album. It is six-minute long song called "Tempest" and it sounds really awesome - even better than "Leathers". To listen to the song, visi Deftones website.

Yesterday, the band also finally revealed cover of the album. It looks like this:

Watch Muse perform at SNL

Muse finally officially released their very anticipated new album entitled The 2nd Law last week (on October 2 in US and on September 28 in most of the world). However, it hasn't got too good reviews. Many people actually think that they copied too much of their sound on this record. In fact, I even think it is true, but I don't think it is that bad. I feel that they added their typical elements to this album, which made all the tracks great. I really enjoy listening to it even though it is not as original as it could be.

The band is obviously promoting their latest effort. Later this month, they will start their tour throughout the Europe. The european part of the tour will kick off on October 16 in Montpellier, France and will end on December 6 in Stockholm, Sweden. Today, they also announced North American tour dates, which will start on January 26 in San Diego, CA. It will be over on April 26 in Quebec, Canada. To see all their tour dates, visit their website. But if you plan to attend any of these shows, be quick because tickets actually sale out pretty quick.

Past weekend, they also appeared on Saturday Night Live show, which was hosted by Daniel Craig. They performed two tracks from The 2nd Law - "Madness" and "Panic Station". Check out both performances below.

Song of the day: Dan Andriano - "Of Peace, Quiet and Monsters"

Bassist and also an occasional singer of a band called Alkaline Trio (they are actually working on new album), Dan Andriano, has also a side project. He released one LP under his one-man project called Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room entitled Hurricane Season in August of 2011.

The album features 10 tracks all written by Dan himself. The album also got pretty good reception (it got rating of 4.5/5 by PunkNews and 4/5 by Alternative Press).

Andriano also recently performed for Fender in their YouTube series called Fender Vision. You can watch him playing a track from his solo album called "Of Peace, Quiet and Monsters":

Watch Tenacious D perform at Jimmy Kimmel + the interview

Not only Garbage appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live show this past week, but also funny duo Tenacious D stopped by. They not only performed during the show, but also chatted a little with Jimmy Kimmel.

The Pick of Destiny-band released their third studio record this year in May. They were considered done after movie and album The Pick of Destiny (2006), which got mostly bad reviews. However, Rize of the Fenix came out and it changed everything...sort of. It was a disappointment for a lot of people, but not me. I got what I expected and nothing more or less. I mean, there are tracks that are really really good and/or funny and enjoyable.

Anyway, check performances of "To Be The Best" and "The Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Kage" + little interview:

Song of the day: Donots feat. Frank Turner - "So Long"

German rock band Donots released their ninth studio album entitled Walk The Dogs on April 27, 2012.  It contains a track called "So Long", which also features british folk-punker Frank Turner on vocals. The track is amazing. It's got really nice and powerful chorus and catchy main guitar riff.

Today, the band posted music video for this song. It also features Frank Turner. The video is alright, but it is kind of funny as well because it actually looks like Frank and Donots singer were in love...

Anyway, Frank Turner will play a special show with Donots on December 15 in Muenster, Germany. To see all Donots tour dates, visit their website.

Watch Garbage perform at Jimmy Kimmel

Alternative rockers Garbage has released their fifth studio album entitled Not Your Kind of People in May of this year. It is their first new album in long 7 years. It is quite good record, which also got positive reviews from fans and critics.

The band is currently on world tour behind their recent release. To check all their tour dates, visit their website.

Earlier this week, they also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live show. You can now check performances from this show of two new songs that are included on new album - "Control" and my favorite "Blood For Poppies".

Listen to two new tracks from KISS

I'm gonna be hones here - I had no idea that KISS is still making new music. But, they obviously are. In 2009, they released their first new album in long 11 years. It is called Sonic Boom and from what I read, it got surprisingly positive reviews.

Now they are about to release another new album. Record called Monster will be their 20th studio album and will actually come out pretty soon - on October 9. It will contain 12 new tracks in regular edition. The band already revealed two of them - "Long Way Down" and "All For The Love of Rock&Roll". And I gotta say that they are not bad.

It is almost unbelievable that their music still sounds good. When we consider that KISS' biggest fame is gone, those two tracks are really decent.

Monster tracklisting:

01. Hell Or Hallelujah
02. Wall Of Sound
03. Freak
04. Back To The Stone Age
05. Shout Mercy
06. Long Way Down
07. Eat Your Heart Out

09. Outta This World
10. All For The Love Of Rock & Roll

12. Last Chance

Song of the day: Pipes and Pints - "Runaway"

Pipes and Pints is a Czech band with american singer. Their music is a mixture of punk, folk punk, celtic punk... They have been on the scene since 2006 and they have released one self-titled and self-released EP in 2008. And in 2009, they finally released LP called Until We Die via People Like You Records.

After touring all over the world behind this LP, which made them famous, they took a break. They even were looking for a new singer for some time. However, Syco Mike decided to come back to his band.

They are currently working on a new album. No title or release date has been released though. "Runaway" is a first song revealed from this record. Check it out below. It is awesome track.

Song of the day: Zoo Kid/King Krule - "Out Getting Ribs"

Only eighteen years old Archy Marshall who has a stage name Zoo Kid and King Krule is a british artist. This young artist has incredible voice and with bluesy guitar, it is a perfect combination.

So far, he released self-released album called U.F.O.W.A.V.E. in 2010, single "Out Getting Ribs"/"Has This Hit" also in 2010 and EP called True Panther in 2011.

I think that it won't take long and this incredible young artist will release more of his music. Check out his 2010's single "Out Getting Ribs":

Watch new music video from Muse

New album from Muse called The 2nd Law is officially out today in the US and was released yesterday (October 1) in the UK. This record was probably the most anticipated record of the fall and even of the whole year.

Everybody could hear the album in its entirety because it was streamed couple of weeks ahead of its release. And even though many people were afraid of their new dubstep direction, it actually works. The album is fresh and fun. The only thing about the album, which I don't like is probably lack of consistency. But I think that everybody knows that Muse is just all over the place with their sound so nobody really expects consistency of their albums anymore.

Today, they revealed new music video for the track called "The 2nd Law: Isolated System". It is second part of "The 2nd Law" songs, which are at the end of the album. The music video, as well as music, is continuation of "The 2nd Law: Unsustainable". Check them both below.

Metallica honor late bassist

Bass player Cliff Burton was member of Metallica since 1983, when their debut Kill 'Em All came out. He died in a tour bus accident in Europe on September 27, 1986. It was a huge loss for the band. However, they were able to get up and make great music even after Cliff's death. He was replaced with Jason Newsted who was kicked out of the band in 2001. Since then, Metallica's bass player post was held by ex-Suicidal Tendencies Robert Trujillo.

To remember late bassist, Metallica gave away 1984 show as a free download. It is an hour long concert that band played in Toulouse, France in November 1984.

Metallica posted on their Facebook on September 27, 2012 photo of Cliff Burton with a caption "We miss you". Then they added "While you're remembering Cliff on the 26th anniversary of his passing, give a listen to this free download from the 'Ride The Lightning' tour."

You can download the show here.

Tracklisting of Metallica's November 22, 1984 - Toulouse, France @ Le Riff:

1. "The Four Horsemen"
2. "Cliff Solo"
3. "For Whom The Bell Tolls"
4. "No Remorse"
5. "The Call of Ktulu"
6. "Seek & Destroy"
7. "Whiplash"
8. "Creeping Death"
9. "Kirk Solo"
10. "Metal Militia"

Song of the day: Grizzly Bear - "Sleeping Ute"

American alternative rock band Grizzly Bear released their very anticipated fourth studio album called Shields last month (on September 18). It contains 10 tracks and in overall, it got really positive reviews.

The band also stopped by and performed at Late Night With Jimmy Fallon just couple of days before their new album was released. You can now check out performance of first track from the album - "Sleeping Ute" below.

Listen to new Coheed and Cambria song

American rock band Coheed and Cambria are releasing double album. First one entitled The Afterman: Ascension will be out next week (October 9) and the second one called The Afterman: Descension will come out sometime in February 2013.

Both albums should promise more personal lyrics from singer and songwritter Claudio Sanchez. Lead single called "Domino The Destitute" was revealed at the end of August. It is long, eight-minute long epic song. You can listen to it and also watch video for it here:

Now the band revealed title track of the album - "The Afterman". It is about death of Sanchez's wife's close friend. He said about the song:

"She found out about it through Facebook, which is the most impersonal way to receive this intensely personal news. Later that night, I sat down and just started writing a song. It became the album’s title track, from the point of view of her experience. Everything else followed from there.”

You can stream it here (via Rolling Stone magazine).

Bassist of great american rock band Kings of Leon, Jared Followill, married model Martha Patterson over the weekend.
Right after the wedding he tweeted:

Congrats!

Song of the day: Josh Homme - "Nobody To Love"

Queens of the Stone Age are currently recording their new, yet-untitled, album (on August 20, they posted on their Facebook page simply "Recording"). It should come out in 2013, but we'll have to wait some more time for exact release date and other album details.

During this recording sessions, leader of the band Josh Homme has written and recorded new track with music composer and producer Dave Sardy. Song called "Nobody To Love" is part of the soundtrack for movie called End of Watch.

"Nobody To Love" appears during the end credits in the movie. It is pretty good song with dark guitar and awesome piano. Listen to it below.
